The Surge On Air Team is made up of everyone who participates in carrying out our broadcast shows. From DJs to producers on shows, this is the team to join if you want some on air experience!

Our award winning news team covers the latest stories around Southampton and the University, as well as other news relevant to students. They are the team behind the hourly updates that get broadcast live on Surge. If you have a passion for news, or are interested in a future in journalism, this is the team for you!

Music Team

Our music team is in charge of all the music on Surge; our playlists and back-catalogue. We review the latest releases and create a sound our listeners love. So, if you have a passion for music, both old and new, and would like to hear a track you've discovered being played on radio, this is the team for you!

Features Team

The features team spends its time working on creating unique and interesting content for our On-Air team and Online. They carry out various interviews with people ranging from well-known celebs, to local artists just joining the music scene, as well as coming up with unique ideas for DJs to use to help make their shows stand out. If you are creative and looking to come up with the 'next big thing' on the radio, or just fancy the chance to chat to some big names, the features team is the place for you!

Station Sound Team

The station sound team is responsible for Surge's on-air branding. This includes adverts, jingles and beds that are played out during shows, as well as helping with making sound clips for features and competitions. If you are interested in music production or want to help change the way Surge sounds, the Station Sound team is the place to be!

Marketing Team

The marketing team is one of the most vital teams in Surge. They are responsible for getting out there to students and increasing our listener count. They also come up with ways to promote our features and competitions, as well as other Surge events. If you are a photoshop wizard or have big ideas for how Surge can take itself to the students of Southampton, the marketing team wants you!

Tech Team

The Tech Team is Surge's first port of call when things go wrong. They are in charge of everything from making sure the studios are kept in a working order, to updating and maintaining the website. If you have experience in technical audio set-ups, or you're a coding enthusiast, the Tech Team is the place for you!
