Councillors have granted a licence to allow a pub to be opened in Belvois Valley. The Southampton licensing committee issued the license allowing the owner to have his pub open until midnight on weekdays and until 1am on Friday and Saturday. The Police have voiced concerns that opening the pub could result in an increase in the violent crime and anti-social behaviour in the area. The panel, however, disagreed saying -that being a food-led pub and with strict opening hours- this would be managed. Mr. Greenwood hopes to open his pub – to be called The Rockstone – before Christmas.
