One of Surge Radio's very own DJs is now a proud Guinness World Record holder after wrapping a person in newspaper faster than anyone has done before. Jonny Andrews, hailing from Surge's Breakfast show 9AM Automatic, has a unique ability for wrapping an entire person in newspaper in just 3 minutes and 5 seconds on 27 April 2013.
9AM Automatic is one of the most critically acclaimed shows on Surge Radio, winning prizes for having the 'Most Enthusiastic Show' and 'Most Persistent Show'. This is yet another glossy award to add to their trophy cabinet.
Union President David Gilani (and former Surge Radio Station Manager) said "I'm very proud of the Surge DJs for finally putting Southampton on the map with the kind of innovative feature you could only hear on student radio. Massive congrats Surge!".
This is the first time Surge Radio has won a Guinness World Record, and we hope that more shows will try to top this and come up with even more inventive ways of gaining recognition.
