Surge Turns 50!
Dear Alumni and Current Members,
Surge Radio was founded as a pirate radio station in 1976 in the depths of Glen Eyre halls, and somehow, we’ve made it to 50! To celebrate this, we are planning a 24-hour stream to raise some money to keep Surge Radio running for years to come or maybe some new equipment if we are lucky! We are looking for some presenters to fill the slots, as well as any alumni who can get involved in helping the broadcast be a hit.
If you would like to get involved, you are welcome to email me at theo@surgeradio.co.uk or message me on the WhatsApp chat if you are a current member, and let’s have a chat! The stream starts at 12pm on Friday the 5th of June continuing till the next day in our Studio at SUSU.
The current format will see the shows divided into slots, taken up by our presenters and alumni who are interested in coming down. We also are keen to have a little introduction show outside on the Redbrick quad, which will be simulcasted on our YouTube Channel. If any alumni even want to send in a pre-recording, a video or even some advice on how we can make this great, any wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
Any help or advice is always welcome and please do not threat to send us a message if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Theo
